Suzanne Walsh and I have created the soundtrack for this upcoming 16mm 80minute feature film by Michael Higgins. Set in the time of the Irish famine, an elderly gravedigger revisits a traumatic event through the visions of his dreams. Trailer can be seen at vimeo here.

An excerpt from one of my favourite moments of music that i have had the pleasure to involved in. Video is my "remix" of Dolorosa Delacruz's visuals for our performance last year:

My remix of Laura Sheeran's "The Sadness Of The Sea" paired with visuals by Peter Christopherson (in memoriam) taken from Coil CSO 15, used in accordance with the creative commons license of that release.

First airing of this piece, another favourite of mine. As always with these improvisions, it was entirely unplanned, with no overdubs, no editing and mixed as it was created.

And finally, the most sedating tones i can muster along with my late night shortwave radio meet Brian O'Shea's gorgeous melodies and uplifting synth playing.

Many thanks to all who attended the August Joinery event, to the wonderfully helpful individuals behind the venue, to Dolorosa for her fantastic visuals, to Diarmuid MacDiarmada for sound engineering, and to my fellow performers, the always brilliant Children Under Hoof and the always superb Estel.
Each of the three acts (of five individuals each) functioned as living pentagrams in an event functioning as an invocation of specific planetary energies with the aim of transmitting and increasing certain magickal currents.

Untied Babel Statues

A new album by United Bible Studies is out now on Apollolaan Recordings, featuring contributions and vocals (a duet with Suzanne Walsh with lyrics in Celestial Speech) from myself.

I noticed a minor misnomer on the Apollolaan website regarding my contributions that I wish to clean up. I used no loops whatsoever, rather they were heavily treated field recordings of certain places (my back garden and Christchurch Cathedral) and myself playing violin, drums and Tibetan bells and bowls - all modified and mixed on the spot.

This release has already sold out from Apollolaan themselves, however the last copies will be available from Volcanic Tongue and Norman Records soon.

A song and video created around the same time and at the same location as the above release, which features Goetic atmospherics from myself and stars me as the eye behind the foxhead, can be heard and seen here.

second solo performance information:

many thanks to the mick o'shea and the guesthouse, the other speakers and of course audience.
my own performance which closed this symposium on the subject of ritual was a combination of lecture, live music, thelemic ritual, and hypnosis.

the performance began with the performance of three rituals:
- the star ruby
- the lesser rituals of the pentagram and the hexagram
...the musical backing of which was a recreation of leila waddell's "tone tesatament" violin piece as published in vol. 1 no. 8 of the equinox. my preperation of this piece took place on october 12 of this year, aleister crowley's birthday. all numerical and ratio settings of equipment used were set to specific significant values made with consultation to liber 777. many thanks to jpaul morton for bringing waddell's score to my attention.

next was an example of group ericksonian hypnosis, with discussion on shared trance states and how the stucture of hypnosis can be applied directly to musical composition.

as it was all soul's day, the remainder of my set consisted of the performance of the following songs, dedicated to friends of mine have departed:
- in memory of sinead gallagher
- in memory of raonaid murray
- in memory of aidrian o' brien
...including a discussion on the experiences and attitudes towards the subject of death, including personal reminiscences.

official remix of steven stapleton (nurse with wound) and tony wakeford (sol invictus)'s "revenge of the selfish shellfish" out now:

my ten minute remix of the original album is included alongside remixes, reworkings and alernate versions by irr. app. (ext.), steven stapleton, tony wakeford, and andrew liles on a companion cd to the original album, which has been superbly remastered by matt waldron, is available as a gorgeous double cd set from robot records.

"Female Orphan Asylum the definite standout, cannot wait to hear the album and will strive to make any more live sets in future. Pretty simple but effective visuals, opening and closing with Vicky's heartbeat was a nice touch also. I actually found myself becoming nauseated at the end of the set during a tsunamic wave of noise. Any band that can manage that is worth seeing again, luckily for myself, nearby spectators and multiple pieces of expensive machinery I managed to pull through unsoiled."

"Quite far removed from Cairbre's decription of their previous set as being 'soothing', Female Orphan Asylum were mental. When I walked in they had already started and it just sounded like a wall of black noise. Stuck it out for a few minutes and it took som sort of shape. I neither particularly enjoyed it nor hated it, it was what it was and as someone who doesn't know much about 'noise' or 'drone' or whatever label its called I've never seen anything like it before."

"FOA's set was certainly different than usual. There was a blurb going around describing them as "power electronics" so they decided to give that a lash. They were in full flow when I arrived. I went up towards the front but felt the fabric of reality beginning to fray so I scuttled away towards the back. Brian's onstage pointing was terribly rude though, that kind of behaviour has no place in noise."
